Day 1 : San Antonio
Unpack and settle in for a comfortable three-night stay. Our accommodations are at the Drury Plaza San Antonio River Walk. Tonight, become acquainted with your fellow travelers and prepare for our great adventure together.

Day 2 : Tour the City
A local guide joins us to explore San Antonio. We view the Spanish Governor's Palace, lovely San Fernando Cathedral and Mission San Jose, the best preserved and restored of all the Texas missions. We also visit downtown's authentic Mexican marketplace, El Mercado. Interact with working artists or sample local cuisine at family-owned restaurants in the largest Mexican market north of the Rio Grande. Watch handicraft demonstrations and browse in the colorful shops and art galleries. Later we board a flatboat for a delightful excursion along the Paseo del Rio canal. Gain a unique perspective of the River Walk while the captain entertains us with fascinating stories of San Antonio's past. This evening we dine along the charming River Walk at Biga on the Banks. Day 3 : The Alamo
History comes to life as we view Alamo: The Price of Freedom at the IMAX Theatre. Be transported back to 1836 as the 13-day siege of the rise and fall of the Alamo is presented on the big screen. Afterwards, we visit the famous landmark and stroll its beautifully landscaped grounds. There is free time this afternoon to enjoy all there is to offer. Look in one of the many shops in La Villita, one of San Antonio's oldest neighborhoods, or dine in any of the delicious restaurants along the River Walk. B

Day 4 : Lafayette
Enjoy a delicious included breakfast before departing San Antonio for Lafayette, Louisiana, in the heart of Cajun country. Founded by Acadians in the 19th century, the state’s legacy of French, Spanish and Caribbean ancestors blends together to create a cultural oasis in the bayou. B

 Day 5 : Nottoway Plantation
This morning we enjoy a visit to Avery Island where we learn and see first hand the only production of Tabasco in the world. Afterwards, elegant days of yesteryear are revealed during our visit to Nottoway Plantation, the South’s largest remaining Antebellum mansion. One of the few to survive the Civil War, this 64-room, three-story, palatial mansion was completed in 1859 and has been fully restored to its original grandeur. We enjoy a delicious included lunch at Randolph Hall on the plantation grounds. Our accommodations for the next three nights are in New Orleans.  L

Day 6 : New Orleans School of Cooking
An expert local guide joins us this morning for a fascinating city tour as we discover the Cajun and Creole charm of New Orleans. After our tour we discover the basics of Louisiana cuisine at The New Orleans School of Cooking. Located in a renovated warehouse in the French Quarter, we learn from expert Creole and Cajun chefs about the cooking style and folklore famous to the area. After lunch, we head down the mighty Mississippi on the Steamboat Natchez river cruise, complete with live narration and music. L

Day 7 : Jazz Brunch/WWII Museum
We depart our hotel by private carriage for a special Jazz Brunch at the world-renowned Court of Two Sisters. Dine on
a wide selection of sumptuous local dishes while listening to the lively sounds of a strolling Jazz trio. Afternoon finds us
visiting the National WWII Museum. See the poignant exhibits and artifacts that serve as a tribute to the thousands
of Americans who contributed to our country’s cause during World War II. The 4-D Victory Theater shows a Tom Hanks-produced interactive documentary film, Beyond All Boundaries, depicting sacrifices made on the front lines and the home front.
