We begin our discoveries of Boston at the John F. Kennedy Library. Here, a documentary film and exhibits provide insight into the Kennedy Era with personal and historic artifacts shedding light on the life of JFK and his family. Then we head into Boston, where we pause for lunch in the dining halls of Quincy Market, a National Historic Landmark where the pushcart was invented. After lunch we join an 18th-century costumed guide on a tour exploring the historic sites on the Freedom Trail and the crucial role played in the American Revolution. Visit the Granary Burying Ground, where some of America’s most notable citizens rest including Paul Revere and Samuel Adams; and enter the Old North Church, where signal lanterns ignited the American Revolution. Day 3 : White Mountain Splendor
Some of New England’s most beloved vistas unfold before us today amidst the lush foliage and towering White Mountains of New Hampshire. Here, pristine brooks babble under covered bridges that harken to simpler times. In the Mt. Washington Valley, we stop for lunch in the delightful town of North Conway, where a Victorian train depot adds to the charm. This afternoon, we traverse the rugged scenery of Crawford and Franconia Notch, stopping along the way to admire scenic overlooks. In North Woodstock, we stop by Fadden’s General Store to see how some of the best maple syrup in the state is produced. D

Day 4 : Castle in the Clouds
This morning we take in the beauty and tranquility of Lake Winnipesaukee on a scenic cruise. Enjoy insightful commentary about the lake’s unique history and wildlife. Dotted by 258 islands, our cruise finishes in Wolfeboro, the oldest summer resort town in the United States. Later, we ascend to the Castle in the Clouds, a stunning stone house built by millionaire shoemaker Thomas Plant in 1914. Browse the tasteful interiors and admire stunning gardens and autumn vistas from its hillside setting in the Ossippee Mountains. Next we follow the Kancamagus Highway. One of New England’s top drives, it traverses a picturesque wonderland of untouched wilderness. B,L

Day 5 : Woodstock, Vermont
Enjoy time at leisure in the quintessential New England town of Woodstock, nestled on the edge of the Green Mountains. Often called "the prettiest little town in America," it was settled in 1768 and still exudes the charms of yesteryear. Browse the shops, admire the stately homes and perhaps stroll across its beloved covered bridge. Later, we visit the Bennington Pottery to learn about their ‘hands-on’ approach to the pottery-making process. We spend the next two nights amidst the comfort and understated luxury of the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, the heart of the Berkshires. B,D

Then, we visit the artist’s former home and studio, now housing a fascinating museum of his life, art and legacy. We continue to the Hancock Shaker Village, where we admire the famous Roundstone Barn and enjoy a typical Shaker lunch. A guided tour sheds light on the pacifist, communal Shaker lifestyle and some of their fine furniture. B,L
