Day 1 : Fly to Argentina
Our wonderful cruise vacation begins with an overnight flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Day 2 : Buenos Aires
This morning we arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A local guide joins us for a tour of this remarkable city. Following our tour, we have the afternoon at our leisure to explore the city before checking into our hotel. Join your Tour Director for a Holiday Vacations Welcome Dinner. D

Day 3 : Board the Norwegian Sun
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Buenos Aires. Later this afternoon, we board the Norwegian Sun for our fourteen-night South American cruise. All meals are included aboard the ship. L,D

Day 4 : Montevideo
This morning the Norwegian Sun docks in Montevideo, Uruguay's capital city. The day is free to explore the charming streets and colonial architecture of Old Town. Optional shore excursions include visiting Independence Square to see Salvo Palace, the Solis Theatre and Rodo Park. B,L,D

Day 5 : At Sea
The day is free to enjoy the amenities of the Norwegian Sun and Freestyle Cruising. Relax on deck and enjoy fine dining and entertainment. B,L,D

Day 6 : Puerto Madryn
The Puerto Madryn area of Patagonia was founded by the Welsh in the late 19th century and is known as "The Galapagos of the East Coast." See an astonishing display of wildlife including sea lions and penguins. B,L,D

Day 7 : Enjoy the Views
We spend the day aboard the Norwegian Sun as we travel southeast to the Falkland Islands. Revel in the benefits of Freestyle Cruising and enjoy the included amenities. B,L,D

Day 8 : Falkland Islands
Today the Norwegian Sun visits Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands and the smallest, most remote capital city in the world. The British-controlled Falkland Islands are well known for their many varieties of wildlife including Rockhopper and Gentoo Penguins and shore birds. B,L,D

Day 9 : Cape Horn
Cape Horn is known to many as the southernmost point of South America and for the chain of islands known as Tierra Del Fuego. Ferdinand Magellan first passed through this area in 1520 and named the islands after the many fires of the Amerindians, which were visible from the sea. Today, its lighthouse is still known as one of the iconic landmarks for sailors. Lush terrain and penguin habitat offer us a wonderful glimpse into this tropical oasis at the edge of the world. Day 10 : Ushuaia
Located on the southern coast of the Tierra del Fuego is the Argentinian city of Ushuaia. The city is surrounded by glorious mountains and overlooks the Beagle Channel. Visit Tierra del Fuego National Park, home to some of the most spectacular wildlife in the world. Later, the Norwegian Sun begins its cruise of the Beagle Channel past immense glaciers and interesting marine wildlife. B,L,D

Day 11 : Punta Arenas
Before the opening of the Panama Canal, ships making the trek around Cape Horn passed through Punta Arenas, situated on the northern bank of the Strait of Magellan. The city has rich maritime and sheep ranching history. B,L,D

Day 12 : Strait of Magellan
Today the Norwegian Sun passes through the Strait of Magellan, named after Ferdinand Magellan, the first European to explore the strait. This waterway was the gateway between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans before the Panama Canal. B,L,D

Day 13 : Patagonic Channel
Our cruise continues as we explore the breathtaking Chilean fjordlands and the Patagonic Channel. Waterfalls tumble over steep canyon walls and snow-capped Andean peaks surround us. Hundreds of species of birds, including the near-extinct giant condor, play and feed here. B,L,D

Day 14 : Puerto Chacabuco
Today our ship passes through the deep, carved fjords of the Chilean archipelago. The snow-capped Andes Mountains give way to the glistening glaciers on display. An amazing array of marine wildlife and birds also surrounds us. B,L,D

Day 15 : Puerto Montt
Puerto Montt is located in Chile's spectacular Lake District and is a supply center for outlying fishing communities. This is one of the best places to buy sweaters, baskets and other handicrafts. B,L,D

Day 16 : Unwind at Sea
Our ship continues its trek north towards Valparaiso. Join your Tour Director for a Farewell Dinner aboard the ship. B,L,D

Day 17 : Valparaiso
Early this morning, the Norwegian Sun arrives in Valparaiso. We will explore Valparaiso, Vina del Mar and Chile’s capital city, Santiago. Tonight we board our flight home. B

Day 18 : Fly Home
We return home with wonderful memories of our vacation.
