Daily Itinerary Items

Day 1 : Fly to Spain
Depart the United States for a flight to Spain.

Day 2 : Madrid
After arriving in Madrid, we begin our adventure with a tour of this incredible capital city. Highlights include the Royal Palace, the Don Quixote statue in the Plaza de España, the monument to Christopher Columbus in the Plaza de Colón, and more. In the afternoon, visit one of the world's greatest galleries of Classical paintings, the Prado Museum. We check-in to our hotel and enjoy a special Welcome Dinner with local tapas. D

Day 3 : Córdoba
Following breakfast, we travel south to the city of Córdoba. Admire the city's squares, patios, and fascinating architecture on a guided tour, including the Roman Bridge and Jewish Quarters. Visit the Mezquita Grand Mosque, a UNESCO site featuring some of the most amazing works of Moorish architecture in the world. Then visit an olive oil farm for tastings and to learn about olives and processing its oil. In the evening, we arrive in Seville for a two-night stay. B

Day 4 : Seville
Wake up in historic Seville and start the morning with a guided city tour, then visit the Alcázar Royal Palace. This outstanding fortress for Moorish kings is still in use today by the royal family. Nearby, we visit the enchanting Plaza de España in beautiful Maria Luisa Park, Seville’s Cathedral is the third largest in Europe and home to the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Stroll through the picturesque Barrio de Santa Cruz with its narrow alleys and colorful facades. In the evening, an enchanting flamenco performance complements our dinner. B,D

Day 5 : Andalucia
Today we see sights of the Spanish countryside in Andalucia, the country's southcentral region, world famous for Flamenco dance, bullfighting, and the majestic Andalusian breed of horses. Relax as we experience the romantic Spanish hinterland as we travel, stopping for lunch and wine tastings at Bodega Lagar Blanco in the beautiful town of Montilla. In the evening we arrive in Granada, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains for a comfortable overnight stay.B,L

Day 6 : Alhambra Palace
This morning tour the beautiful medieval palace of Alhambra. Built on a hilly plateau surrounded by lush vegetation, this stony fortress is a paradise on Earth, with incredible aesthetic stone detailing, verdant garden parks and vast sights of the Andalucia countryside. Travel east to the village of Gaudix for lunch, then we check into our lavish hotel in Valencia. Tonight we dine on paella, a savory rice dish with meat and veggies that is also Spain’s national cuisine. B,D

Day 7 : Valencia
Join a local tour guide through Valencia’s historic city center. Learn about the grand bullring Plaza de Toros, the beautiful outdoor market Mercado Central, the Valencia Cathedral, the medieval quarter El Carmen, and much more. Explore the IVAM Modern Art Museum, with more than 10,000 works of art in its permanent collection for you to peruse. The evening is ours for dinner on our own and another restful night in this delightful coastal city. B

Day 8 : Barcelona
This morning we travel northeast along the coastline to Barcelona, the largest metropolis on the Mediterranean Sea. Begin the day with a guided city tour where we view the great Roman walls, the Gothic Quarter, and Barcelona’s vast harbor from the Montjuïc, the hill that overlooks the city center. Explore the Poble Espanyol heritage park, where recreations of 100+ buildings reveal different Spanish cultures. This open-air park is home to many shops, cafes, restaurants, artisans, and performers. B,D

Day 9 : Gaudi Masterpieces
Tour the greatest works of legendary Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi today with a visit to the visionary's monumental Sagrada Família, a jaw-dropping basilica with imposing spires reaching into the sky. Gaudi passed away in the 1920s with less than a quarter of the basilica complete and it is still being built today. Afterwards visit Gaudi’s Park Güell, a picturesque park featuring lush gardens, delightful buildings and the iconic mosaic salamander sculpture “El Drac.” This evening we gather for a joyful Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner. Day 10 : Fly Home
