Day 1 : Fly to D.C.
Today we begin our historical adventure with a flight to Washington, D.C. Our home for the next five nights will be at the Hyatt Centric Arlington. We complete our evening with a delicious included Holiday Vacations Welcome Dinner. D

Day 2 : Memorial Visits
This morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before an expert local guide joins us to share the city's incredible history during an educational driving tour. We view the Martin Luther King Memorial, inspired by the famous "I Have A Dream" speech, the Washington Monument, an iconic marble obelisk considered the most prominent feature of the skyline and the FDR Memorial, a testament to one of the country’s most beloved presidents. Our tour continues this afternoon with the Jefferson Memorial, standing as a symbol of liberty and a site for reflection and the Lincoln Memorial, overlooking the reflecting pool and the site of defining moments in the country’s history. Day 3 : Honor the Fallen
We begin our day with breakfast at the hotel and then depart for another fascinating day of touring. We remember the brave heroes of our nation’s history with visits to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and the World War II Memorial. Lunch and free time early afternoon will be at Union Station, host to 17 presidents and countless foreign dignitaries. Later, we visit the Newseum, an interactive showcase of news and journalism. Covering everything from current events to the role of a free press in a free society, the museum enlightens us to the significant impact news has played in our world’s history. B

Day 4 : Mount Vernon
Today we savor breakfast at the hotel, then venture out of the capital city to neighboring Virginia. Filled with colonial charm, the historic Mount Vernon Inn offers traditional fare served by staff in period costumes. After lunch we tour Mount Vernon, the plantation estate of George and Martha Washington located on the banks of the Potomac River. Experience a film in the orientation center, wonder at the estate’s grounds and Mansion House and see fascinating exhibits in the museum galleries. After learning about the life and times of the "Father of our Country," we return to D.C. for an evening at leisure. B,L

Day 5 : The Smithsonian
fter a scrumptious breakfast, morning and afternoon shuttles will be provided to the world-renowned Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum and research complex, featuring museums and galleries. These exceptional collections are fondly referred to as "America’s Attic." Amazing exhibits highlighting the development of flight and the race to space are featured in the Air & Space museum. The Natural History Museum features exhibits ranging from the earliest humans to modern mammals, the American History Museum is devoted to the cultural, social and political development of our country. This evening we enjoy a Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner. B,D

Day 6 : Arlington Cemetery
Begin the day with an included breakfast, then we visit Arlington National Cemetery to pay our respects. Take time to view the Kennedy gravesites, witness the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and see the memorial to the members of the Challenger crew. We then board our flights home with memories of our time in our nation’s capital. B
