Day 1 : Fly to Nashville
We arrive in Nashville this afternoon and check in to our upscale accommodations at Holiday Inn Express Nashville Downtown on Broadway Street. As one of the best Holiday Inns in the country, it offers a plethora of wonderful amenities, such as a complimentary shoeshine in a vintage chair! Grab a drink and get cozy by the fireplace while listening to live music in the lobby or relax in the Broadway Veranda. After a day of exploring the many nearby attractions, you’ll enjoy resting in beautiful, newly-renovated rooms or going for a dip in the pool. Take time to get settled and delight in the convenience of unpacking only once as we stay in this same centrally located hotel for our entire trip. Each evening we’ll get together for an included reception with snacks, and tonight we have a special, private reception with a complimentary glass of beer or wine as we mingle with fellow travelers.
Day 2 : Hello Music City!
Every morning on this trip begins with an included buffet-style breakfast at the hotel. Our adventure today starts with exploring all that Music City has to offer on a guided tour. Highlights of this tour include Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, Music Row, Honky Tonk Row, the Tennessee State Capitol, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Ryman Auditorium. This afternoon, we have some time at leisure before gathering in the evening and getting to know our fellow travelers over a savory Welcome Dinner.
Day 3 : Loretta Lynn's Ranch
Following a restful morning, we travel to Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery. Enjoy a guided tour throughout the mansion and museum to learn the century-long history that is prominent in thoroughbred horse breeding, training, and racing. Afterwards, we indulge in a classic Southern meal at Loveless Café, a staple in Nashville for over 65 years. Delight your taste buds with their world-famous cuisine and swing over to the attached Hams & Jams Country Market to purchase made-from-scratch goodies to bring home! Later this afternoon, we visit Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, the famous country singer’s former home. Take a stroll through Western Town, which sits upon the historic Grist Mill waterfall, to explore various museums and gift shops. While there, be sure to soak up scenic views on the massive deck overlooking the waterfall and Hurricane Creek. The rest of today is at leisure to relax or venture out and take in the night life of this legendary music mecca.
Day 4 : Country Music Hall of Fame
Our morning begins with a tour of Studio B, the famous RCA recording studio that recorded Elvis Presley, Chet Atkins, Eddy Arnold, The Everly Brothers, and many others. Next we visit the Country Music Hall of Fame to celebrate and explore the rich history of country, western, and folk music. Browse the expansive exhibits that display intriguing stories and learn more about the Hall of Fame members. A highlight of this visit is the permanent exhibit, Sing Me Back Home, which brings you on a multi-layered and immersive journey through the history and sounds of country music all the way back to its pre-commercial roots in the nineteenth century. Tonight, get ready for a fabulous dinner and show at Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre, voted Nashville’s #1 dinner show! Enjoy a superb all-you-can-eat buffet while watching live performances of songs from many of the greatest country artists, past and present.
Day 5 : Country Music Icons
This morning is an exciting one for Johnny Cash fans! We travel to the heart of downtown Nashville to visit the Johnny Cash Museum. Named the #1 Music Museum in America by USA Today, this attraction holds the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of memorabilia from the great music icon. We then take a tour of Ryman Auditorium, a world-renowned concert hall rich in music history and original home of the Grand Ole Opry. Following lunch, an exclusive backstage tour awaits us at the Grand Ole Opry! Get an inside look at what happens behind the scenes as we listen to intriguing stories about country music greats, watch archival footage, and see long-time country artists, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Afterwards, we return to the hotel with time to explore the area on your own, grab a bite to eat, and shop around.
Day 6 : Grand Ole Opry Performance
Today is yours for individual exploration or relaxation at the hotel. With accommodations in the heart of downtown Nashville, you can conveniently walk to many must-see attractions, such as the Frist Art Museum or Bridgestone Arena, and eat your way through the mouthwatering culinary scene at incredible restaurants like Wildhorse Saloon or Hattie B’s Hot Chicken. Don’t forget to stop into the charming shops to grab a souvenir and stroll down Honky Tonk Highway to immerse yourself in the country music scene. After dinner, we’ll gather at the hotel to depart for a spectacular live performance at the Grand Ole Opry.
Day 7 : Andrew Jackson's Hermitage
Our day starts with a guided tour of the mansion at Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, followed by time at leisure to explore the estate. This historical museum sits on over 1,000 acres and was owned by President Andrew Jackson from 1804 until 1845, and now serves as the final resting place for him, his wife, and other members of the family. This afternoon, we depart for an included Farwell Lunch aboard the General Jackson Showboat, Nashville’s only cruise. Delight in this immersive experience of Southern culture with a dazzling country music variety show and a delicious Southern meal as we cruise the Cumberland River. Later, we savor one last evening in Music City with time at leisure to try another of Nashville’s favorite local eateries, shop for souvenirs, or immerse ourselves in the iconic night life.
Day 8 : Fly Home
We return home today with fond memories of our adventures in Nashville.
