Day 1 : Fly to California
We arrive in sunny Southern California for the first of six nights at a beautiful, well-appointed hotel near San Diego's sparkling waterfront and popular Seaport Village.
Day 2 : San Diego
Begin each morning with a savory cooked-to-order breakfast. Today, we’re off to explore San Diego with a knowledgeable local guide. We drive by Petco Park, home of the Padres baseball club, tour San Diego’s distinct neighborhoods, and visit the historic Gaslamp Quarter. An included lunch at Peohe’s Restaurant on Coronado Island features a tropical interior with waterfalls and breathtaking views. Following lunch, we board a ferry for a delightful crossing of the San Diego Bay before returning to our hotel for an evening at leisure.
Day 3 : San Diego Harbor
Today, we board an excursion boat and set our sails for relaxation on a narrated cruise of San Diego Harbor. Experience marvelous views of the San Diego skyline, colorful pleasure boats, and stately U.S. Navy ships as we sail one of the best natural harbors in North America. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in Old Town, the first permanent Spanish settlement in California and home to several cultural and historic sites. Following lunch, take the opportunity to browse and shop in the area’s charming adobe and wooden buildings.
Day 4 : San Diego Zoo
Discover your adventurous side today at the San Diego Zoo, one of the largest, most progressive zoos in the world with over 650 species and more than 12,000 animals. The park’s Skyfari® Aerial Tram, double-decker buses, and moving walkways make seeing koalas, giraffes, lions, and other exotic animals a breeze. The evening is yours to spend as you wish.
Day 5 : Balboa Park
Arguably one of the most famous locations in San Diego is Balboa Park, the nation’s largest urban cultural park. Many of Balboa Park’s buildings were built for the 1915-16 Panama-California Exposition. It is home to 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens, and the San Diego Zoo. Enjoy an included one-day pass to explore your interests in up to four museums, such as the Air & Space Museum, Natural History Museum, Museum of Art, Model Railroad Museum, and the Fleet Science Center.
Day 6 : USS Midway Museum
Our morning begins with a visit to the USS Midway Museum. Spend time touring this floating city and learn about the 225,000 sailors who have served on this vessel as you view over 60 exhibits that bring the ship’s history to life. The afternoon is free for individual exploration. You may choose to stroll the embarcadero, take a trolley tour, visit SeaWorld San Diego, or Safari Park, which houses a large array of wild animals from all over the world. Later, we celebrate our sunny adventure in Southern California with a Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner.
Day 7 : Bid Farewell
Return home with wonderful memories of our time in San Diego.
