Traveling opens the mind, heart, and soul to all-new experiences, which inspires creativity for many. Paintings, photographs, sketches, and stories are some of the creative outlets that people use to capture and share their adventures.
On a recent departure of our Bryce, Zion & the Grand Canyon tour, directed by Jud Spencer, guests John and Carol Couzelis found inspiration in the otherworldly beauty and ancient natural history of this phenomenal part of the world. Together, they composed a poem capturing the magical highlights of their tour. Enjoy reading the poem below, which perfectly highlights the wonders of America’s beloved national parks and the connections formed along their journey.
“In Arches’ embrace, we wandered wide, Where crimson stones with grace abide. Each arch a marvel, carved by time, A testament to the sublime.
Through canyons vast, in Grand Canyon’s sweep, We felt the earth’s profoundest deep. Layers of history in every hue, A canvas vast, a timeless view.
Zion’s cliffs rose bold and high, Their rugged peaks against the sky. Through emerald groves and rivers clear, We sensed the sacred presence near.
In Bryce, where spires in sunlight glow, Like silent choirs in radiant rows, The hoodoos stood, a surreal dream, Crafted by nature’s finest scheme.
In these grand places, heart and mind, In awe of beauty so refined, we glimpsed the hand that shaped the earth, In moments of both joy and mirth.
To Mike, whose driving kept us sure, On winding roads, both smooth and pure, We raise a thanks for every mile, For every twist and every trial.
To Carl and Ginger, hosts so kind, Whose warmth and care we’ll ever mind, Your gracious hearts made all so bright, Each evening’s rest, each morning’s light.
And Jud, our guide through nature’s lore, With knowledge vast and stories more, You led us with a steady hand, Through wondrous sights and sacred land.
Each step we took, a prayer, a praise, For nature’s wonders, endless days. These parks, a glimpse of heaven’s art, Imprinted deep within our hearts.”
