Announcing the Winners to our Nov. 2017 Facebook Photo Contest!

After 120 photo submissions and more than 1200 votes cast, we are excited to announce the winner of our first-ever Facebook Photo Contest: Colleen Kuharchik’s image of Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. Congratulations Colleen!

We talked to her about her experience and asked her how she pulled off taking the photo that earned the most votes. Read on to learn more!

Colleen has been on three Holiday Vacations tours since 2015 and is looking forward to joining us on a tour of Ireland in 2018.

She captured this image on our Glacier, Yellowstone, & Grand Tetons with Rail tour in the summer of 2017. Nearing the end of an 11-day tour that included a tour of Seattle, an overnight by train into Montana, and tours of Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, Colleen and her tour group spent a day exploring the vast rocky cliffs and alpine valleys of the Grand Tetons.

Eventually their motorcoach pulled over for a photo stop at Jenny Lake – the lake featured in the photo. “It was a beautiful day and the lake was very peaceful!” said Colleen.

She let her traveling companions take their pictures first. As they took their pictures, Colleen examined her surroundings, looking for a great shot. After everyone took their photos and cleared out of the area, that’s when Colleen framed her shot and took this picture.

We had a blast checking out the photos everyone submitted. We love seeing our guests having fun and capturing the world’s natural beauty. Look forward to more Holiday Vacations photo contests in 2018.
