Bucke Lis Experiences
Denali National Park & Preserve
Venture into over six million acres of interior wilderness and preserved lands, boasting
tundra, dense forests, and awe-inspiring glaciers that are home to some of the most
spectacular wildlife in the country, including the “Big Five.” The core of the park is Mount
Denali, North America’s tallest mountain. While often shrouded in clouds, when conditions
are favorable you may catch a glimpse of its soaring peak – the experience of a lifetime.
The Inside Passage
Cruise the serene Inside Passage, the traditional homelands of the Huna and Tlingit people
who have lived in harmony with the region's natural beauty for centuries. Enjoy views of
majestic fjords, dense forests, and towering glaciers, all teeming with wildlife such as whales,
sea lions, and bald eagles. Must-visit cities along the route include Ketchikan, renowned for
its totem poles; Juneau, the state capital; and Skagway, famous for its gold rush history.
Tidewater Glaciers
Gaze upon vast glaciers covering the landscape and witness one of nature’s most mesmerizing
phenomena – calving! These icy giants, which originate high in the mountains and cover dozens
of miles before plunging into the sea, create awe-inspiring displays as massive chunks break
off and crash into the water. Alaska’s wilderness provides incredible viewing opportunities,
including Prince William Sound, which has more tidewater glaciers than anywhere on Earth.
Trans-Alaska Pipeline
Discover Alaska’s most impressive engineering achievement, spanning over 800 miles from
Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. Completed in 1977, it fuels economic growth by transporting oil
through extreme weather conditions and challenging terrains – a testament to the resilience
of locals. Enjoy the opportunity to see where it runs above ground due to permafrost and don’t
miss an iconic photo opportunity with the pipeline crossing the river on a suspension bridge!
White Pass & Yukon Route Railway
Journey back in time on this historic narrow-gauge railroad, built during the Klondike Gold
Rush. Once serving as vital transportation for gold prospectors and a chief supplier for the
Alaska Highway construction during World War II, it now offers tourists a comfortable ride
in vintage coaches with an onboard expert who details the rich history. As it winds through
rugged terrain, soak in views of lush greenery, mountains, glaciers, gorges, and waterfalls.
The Alaska Highway
Travel into the heart of the North on this historic route, also known as the Alcan. It covers over
1,300 miles from British Columbia to Delta Junction, where it connects to the Richardson
Highway. Thousands built the road in an impressive eight months after Pearl Harbor, which
motivated the land connection to the lower 48 for increased defense. This iconic road trip
boasts views of towering mountains, dense forests, crystal-clear lakes, and wildlife!
