Highlights
- Day 1: Fly to AlaskaUpon arriving in Fairbanks, the Golden Heart City, we check in to our accommodations for a two-night stay.
- Day 2: FairbanksAfter a leisurely morning, we head out for a photo stop at the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, then enjoy a Welcome Lunch at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge. This afternoon, we board the Riverboat Discovery III for a narrated cruise on the Chena River, featuring a floatplane and sled dog demonstration. Learn about Native culture and traditions during a shore excursion to a recreated Athabascan village before returning to our hotel.

- Day 3: Scenic Rail JourneyAll aboard the Alaska Railroad! Today's breathtaking journey on the Denali Star takes us into the state’s rugged wilderness and Denali National Park, six million acres of pristine and protected land. We arrive at our Denali lodge, then spend the rest of the day pursuing personal interests. This afternoon is a great time to visit the Denali Sled Dog Kennels and book an optional flightseeing or rafting adventure!

- Day 4: Denali National Park and PreserveThis morning, a naturalist guide joins us on an adventure into the tundra of Denali National Park and Preserve. Marvel at the unspoiled landscapes as we keep watch for grizzly bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. If the skies permit, Mount Denali may grace us with a glimpse of its peak, the highest in North America. Back at our lodge this evening, delight in an all-you-can-eat meal with the toe-tapping revelry of the Music of Denali Dinner Theater.

- Day 5: Veterans Memorial & Iditarod Trail HeadquartersOur day begins with a brief stop at the Alaska Veterans Memorial, which was dedicated in 1984 as a place of remembrance and honors each branch of service. After lunch at Settlers Bay Lodge, we visit the Iditarod Trail Headquarters in Wasilla to learn about mushing and the iconic Anchorage-to-Nome race. Our accommodations for the next two evenings are in Anchorage.

- Day 6: AnchorageToday, we discover Alaska’s largest city on a guided tour that features historic homes, Ship Creek, the Iditarod ceremonial starting line, and more. More than 40% of the state’s population calls this coastal city home, though that only adds up to 300,000! Our tour ends at the Anchorage Museum, where local culture and history come to life. The afternoon is yours with free time to explore or shop for handcrafted souvenirs before gathering for dinner.

- Day 7: Kenai Fjords CruiseWe board the Coastal Classic for another spectacular rail journey on the Alaska Railroad this morning, heading south into the Kenai Peninsula. Have your camera ready to capture magnificent scenery that can only be seen by train, some of the best in Alaska. We arrive in Seward, where a high-speed catamaran adventure awaits. Admire the natural wonders during our 120-mile narrated cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park and watch for sea otters, seals, whales, and other marine life. Our captain also stops for incredible views of a towering tidewater glacier! Our accommodations are in Seward tonight.

- Day 8: Alaska SeaLife CenterOur final day in The Last Frontier begins at the Alaska SeaLife Center, where research and rehabilitation help some of the state's threatened marine life. Get up-close to a variety of animals, including sea otter pups and puffins. We then celebrate our adventures with a special Farewell Lunch before returning to Anchorage for our overnight flight home.

- Day 9: Arrive HomeWe return home today with wonderful memories and new friendships made during our time in the great state of Alaska.
